this is my friend leslie. i’ve been pestering her for a couple of months now to let me photograph her. she demurred at first, saying she’s not photogenic, but i finally prevailed. THANK GOODNESS. with the help of late afternoon sunshine, extreme wind and three red balloons, these are easily some of the best images i’ve made. thank you leslie, for being a perfect model, and so, so lovely.
*on a side note: you, too, my friends, can have photos like this. i’m availalble for portrait sessions in september and october. treat yourself!
this is my friend aaron. we had a fabulous time running around downtown minneapolis shooting both serious and goofy portraits. like what you see ladies?…he’s single! aaron: thanks for your willingness to get silly. i had a blast!
my best friend lauren is getting married next month, and since i am in the wedding, i don’t think i’ll have many opportunities to shoot photos of her on the big day. she indulged me in a bridal session this morning and i just couldn’t wait to post the shots. lauren: you are TOO beautiful and i am so happy for you and joe. xoxo.
i got a new camera and i have been chomping at the bit to shoot some portraits. jessica was kind enough to be my lovely model yesterday on our coffee date. i have a feeling there are many good things to come.
let’s back up to mid-july when i had the pleasure of meeting chelsey, brant and casey. this kid is seriously adorable. SERIOUSLY.
meet clover, mel and brian. the coolest family i’ve ever met from ohio. okay, the ONLY family i’ve ever met from ohio, but still the coolest! mel and brian are friends with my brother-in-law from way back when, and i got to do a photoshoot with them in madison a few weeks ago. clover is one of those babies that has a wisdom about her. she’s a watcher and a thinker and i truly hope i have the opportunity to see her when she gets older. enjoy the images; they were a joy to make.
the sweetest little nugget i’ve seen in a while…reya wasn’t even a month old when we shot these photos! she’s already holding her head up and she’s so expressive i can’t wait to see her again in a few months. plus, check out those dimples!
Meet Chelsey, Brant and their little peanut! We were so lucky to get GORGEOUS weather for our shoot tonight. This family makes me smile.
This is Patrick. He is a painter, a traveler, an innovator and a friend of mine. He’s currently en route to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he and his lovely lady friend Noelle will be spending the next however long. This past Friday evening the Women’s Club of Minneapolis hosted Patrick to do a live painting. He was accompanied by fabulous musicians James Tyler O’Neill, Greg Schutte, Michael MacGarthwaite and Aaron McCabe. Together, these five men did an incredible piece of performance art. The quartet played a fantastic collection of improvisational music and Patrick painted their music on his canvas, adding his signature color selection and style.
After years of working in the service and wedding industry, it is always a fantastic break to be a guest at a wedding, instead of a worker bee. This past Saturday I had the privilege of attending the wedding of Jessica and Tom. I’ve known Jessica’s family since…well, since forever actually. Our fathers used to work together at Target about a hundred years ago, and I actually don’t remember a time when I didn’t know this family.
Over the years I haven’t stayed particularly close to Jessica, but I was thrilled to be able to attend this event and see what a beautiful and composed woman she has become. In addition to the pouring rain, there was also a little incident with some red wine finding its way onto Jessica’s dress. Through all of this, she kept a smile on her face and graciously thanked all of the guests for coming. Her new husband Tom is kind, sensitive and absolutely overjoyed that he gets to be with Jess forever. You can see in their eyes that they’re perfect for each other. More shots coming soon, but for now, enjoy this little teaser and get a taste for the day.
Congratulations Jess and Tom!
one of these days i will start a blog that will be dedicated to all of the weird things that my cats eat. seriously, they think they’re dogs. it’s not good. in the meantime, i’ll post the short version of that list here. in the last three weeks, other than their cat food (which they get twice a day), my cats have eaten the following without any consequences to their digestive systems:
it looks like if ernest has his way, the nectarine is next.
oy.
also, both cats have decided that from here on out, i can spend all the money i want on cat toys, but i might as well hold on to my money because they’re going to kick it in this jcrew box for the rest of time. ivan would like for you to not stare at him while he’s in the box, please.
The internet ate my blog. No, really. It said OM NOM NOM and my blog, and the past 2.5 years of posting vanished, just like that. Mega bummer, to say the least. But, as the internet taketh away, the universe giveth, and into my life came Meg. Meg is a client of mine from Studio Vincent and we’ve become extra chummy ever since we agreed to trade engagement photos for wordpress blog design.
(I’m pretty sure I got the better end of that deal.)
I could wax poetic about how charming and funny Meg and her fiance are, but I’ll just send you a link to their collaborative project and let you see for yourself.
Without further ado, I present to you, my NEW BLOGSITE! It’s a blog, it’s a website, it’s a magical place where you can see my latest projects and swoon over how beautiful my friends and family are.
Enjoy, and come back soon!
