marla is not only a dear friend of mine, but a very talented photographer working in the madison and chicago area. she’s a truly lovely person and you’ve seen her family on my blog before. i love photographing them every year. her kiddos are just about the cutest thing ever and we had fun on a summer trip to the lodi park.
i went to high school with janelle and was delighted to meet her daughter adelyn and her fiance sean. we had a perfect, bright morning at the apple orchard and editing these images made me smile all over again.
she is the best pet photographer EVER. hire her right now.
my friend emily already had one of the most beautiful children of all time, and then she decided to go ahead and make another magical little one. congrats to emily and omar on their new addition!
disclaimer: i have taken liberties with the amount of adjectives and superlatives that should be used in any single paragraph of text. to get to the photos below you’ll just have to trust me when i tell you that they are all necessary.
this wedding was one of the most heartfelt, beautiful and emotional events i’ve ever been to, and certainly one of my favorite to shoot. when i first started learning to be a photographer, i called on my friend torey often to be my muse. she is one of the loveliest people i know, both inside and out, and she was always gracious enough to walk with me by the river, or stand still with the light shining behind her so that i could learn how to use my camera and get better at my craft. for that, i will always be grateful. when she called to tell me that she and her longtime love, jeremy, were engaged and would i please shoot her wedding, i was both thrilled and honored. jeremy & torey are kind, gentle souls. they are sensitive, loving, funny and artistic. torey is an incredible sculptor, painter and builder of beautiful things and jeremy is such a talented drummer that it’s hard to go to a show in minneapolis and NOT see him on the stage. they love each other deeply and it was such a privilege to be with them and their families on their wedding day. when i looked through the photos to select images for the blog it was really hard to choose which ones were the most important. they are all filled with light, love, tears and joy. torey and jeremy: thank you, thank you, thank you for having me out to photograph your wedding. this was truly a great thing to be a part of and i am so glad that you two found each other.
